Presentation: Helping Families Understand the Transition to Parenthood
The arrival of a baby transforms the role of his/her parents. Many couples know that while the transition to parenthood is a time of great possibility and hope, it can also be a time of anticipation, anxiety, and fear. Research shows that couples experience significant changes when becoming parents. Through education and resources, doulas can help prepare families for these changes. Come learn how to teach parents what to expect after having a baby, the reasons why the transition to parenthood can be difficult, how to understand the impact of relationship quality on parenting.
